When Borussia Dortmund needed a goal, Serhou Guirassy found two. The Guinea striker scored in the 10th and 53rd minutes as Dortmund won 2-1 at Sabah in Azerbaijan on Tuesday 20 October 2026, on the Azerbaijani club's Champions League debut.
The first was a tap-in after goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov parried a shot from Felix Nmecha. Aden McCarthy headed Sabah level before half-time, but Guirassy poked in Joey Veerman's cross at the back post to settle it. Dortmund had lost their previous Champions League game, 1-0 at Bodø/Glimt.

The brace took Guirassy to 21 Champions League goals in 27 games for Dortmund since he joined in the summer of 2024. Over that period only Harry Kane (28) and Kylian Mbappé (24) have scored more in the competition; Erling Haaland has 20.
“He's a truly great striker for us.”
