About the federation
The Nigeria Fencing Federation is the governing body saddled with the management and regulation of all Olympic sports of fencing in Nigeria. This professional body is accountable for organizing local fencing championships within the country as well as training and selection of merited fencers that represent the country for international competitions.
The federation which is based in the city of Lagos Nigeria was initiated in the year 1997 with Chief Kayode Aderinokun as its first president; Adeyinka Samuel has been president since May 2011. The sport is not so common like other sports like basketball, soccer and others, and the federation is striving hard to promote it as well as develop the sports in Nigeria so that in no due time the sports can compete with other popular sports in the country and globally.
Today the federation has established different fencing clubs in several schools in Lagos with the sole aim of teaching the growing ones about fencing and the importance of teamwork.
Premier Fencing Club is one of the clubs among other cadet fencing clubs they established with lots of fencing games involved to make an interesting session with kids.
